However, each product is different will have its own specific criteria.<\/p>\n<p>Without giving away all of our secrets, here is\u00a0a standard list of things we check to ensure a quality product.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Fit:<\/span> Does the item the bag\/pouch is designed to hold fit properly inside<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Placement of Parts (web, veclro, snaps, etc):<\/span> At mark or within tolerance allowed<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Seam Allowances:<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0typically 3\/16\u201d on all products; seams are to be within +\/- 1\/16\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Cuts<\/span>\u00a0&#8211; cuts\u00a0in material flaws, crooked cuts, ragged cuts<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Snaps\/Rivets<\/span> &#8211; set in wrong position, missed hole, machine not set correctly<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Closing Stitches:<\/span>\u00a0in the same line as the binding stitches on the front and back of the product.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Bartacks:<\/span> check location; placement is critical, can cause some items to be too small<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">T<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ension and Thread Clipping:<\/span>\u00a0 Stitches should be tight and the tension should be set so you cannot see the loop of the top and bottom threads.\u00a0Threads\u00a0clipped\u00a0to within tolerance.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Stitch Length<\/span> &#8211;\u00a0typically 7-11 stitches\/inch<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Binding<\/span> &#8211; not applied correctly, loose, smashed, uneven, not caught on both sides, overlapped binding not covered.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Programmable stitching<\/span> &#8211; out of bobbin thread, missing bartack, tacked in wrong position, located part in wrong position, tack chewed up binding.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, it&#8217;s always best to have a second sets of eyes inspect.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here is a standard list of things we check to ensure a quality product. <a href=\"http:\/\/tacticalgearsewing.com\/blog\/?p=75\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"spay_email":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true},"categories":[20],"tags":[3],"aioseo_notices":[],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"jetpack_shortlink":"https:\/\/wp.me\/p5euFE-1d","jetpack-related-posts":[{"id":88,"url":"http:\/\/tacticalgearsewing.com\/blog\/?p=88","url_meta":{"origin":75,"position":0},"title":"Part II &#8211; How to Establish a Win-Win Relationship with a Cut and Sew Shop","date":"December 29, 2010","format":false,"excerpt":"Do you know how to be a good partner in the outsourcing process?","rel":"","context":"In &quot;Contract Sewing&quot;","img":{"alt_text":"","src":"","width":0,"height":0},"classes":[]},{"id":31,"url":"http:\/\/tacticalgearsewing.com\/blog\/?p=31","url_meta":{"origin":75,"position":1},"title":"Is Made in USA molle gear really better?","date":"May 6, 2009","format":false,"excerpt":"It's a reasonable question in these times when so much of the textiles world is focused in the Far East.
